Dance Recital

"Footloose" was the theme for this years Dance Recital!
The girls did a fabulous job this year! Lauren was adorable and remembered all of her steps- she did an amazing job :) Emma continues to amaze me at her ability to shine in whatever she sets her mind to!

Mom's Birthday

We celebrated my Mom's birthday by grilling out. Dad slow cooked two chickens on the grill and they were so good! She also got a surprise visit from Adam who was in Iowa for a wedding! My sister brought a really yummy cake that was so good! It was a beautiful day spent with family :)I could not be more blessed!

I am so blessed to have her for a mother and friend!

Later that week we took her to the Bakery to celebrate!

Memorial Weekend

We started off Memorial Weekend by taking flowers to Jason's Dad's grave. 

My brother Adam and his wife Jill also came home for the weekend 

and we were so excited to spend some quality time with them! My sister and her family were celebrating Memorial Weekend at Lake 

 Black Hawk so we really missed having her and her family with us!

Some of the highlights of the weekend included: 

My dads famous grilling!! We had ribeyes, beer brats, brat patties, chicken, iowa Chops, and hot dogs. There were also cheesy potatoes and baked beans- it was all sooo good! 

A shoot out at Jill's parents farm! Jill's parents have some land outside of Boone so we spent Saturday evening there. We took a walk down to their creek and let the girls play and encountered some cows! They decided to follow us down the the creek and the kids thought this was pretty funny!

Sunday afternoon we took a walk through Don Williams. On our way there the girls kept asking where we were going, when I told them Don Williams, Lauren replied, " I don't know her"!! We thought that was  pretty funny! 

My Grandpa Lingren was honored at a Memorial Day Ceremony for serving 50 Years in the American Legion. I was so glad I was able to attend this ceremony- I am so grateful to the many men and women who sacrifice so much for our freedom. 

And this is why we LOVE Jill!! :)

On our way home we stopped at my Great Grandpa Floyd and Great Grandma Elsie's grave, my Grandma Elsie lived to be 102 years old and was the neatest person. I wish my kids would have gotten to meet her and know her.
