The morning of Jason's homecoming was filled with all sorts of emotion. The girls were excited but having a hard time controlling their emotions. They were happy but very emotional. We were all a little on edge dealing with the anticipation! We left Boone around 10 am headed to Council Bluffs with Jason's parents and Sister's family. Once we arrived in Council Bluffs we got checked in to our hotel which was conveniently located right next to the Mid America Center!
We had a little time so we freshened up and called Jason a few times to find out where they were. They had left that morning on a bus from Wisconsin and were traveling through Iowa! When the time for their arrival got closer we decided to head on over to the Mid America Center to wait. The girls and I wanted to wait outside for Jason's bus to pull up and see him right away, instead of waiting inside. The Mid America Center is a large building which meant as soon as we saw him we had to run around to the front of the building, up to the second floor and then find our family. We ended up waiting about a half an hour outside. The first 20 minutes went fairly quick, mainly because we were being *interviewed the entire time by several different TV stations and newspapers. Once it got closer the girls were getting restless and just wanted to see their Dad!
Here are the girls anxiously waiting!

They're finally here!!!!
(Jason's bus is the Gold one!!)
We are so happy to have him home. It is definitely an adjustment for all of us. We have spent a year apart and have all gotten used to doing things a certain way and become very independent. With that being said there are so many things to celebrate. We are so thankful to God for getting us all safely through this deployment. The girls are so excited to have their dad home to do all the fun things they used to do- going for long bike rides, going to the park, having ice cream- pretty much anything with their dad and they are happy! Me? I am super relieved to have another set of hands around the house and it is nice to have help and support with all of the every day tasks! We are truly blessed!
*We were also interviewed by Channel 7 News in Omaha, and made the 5, 6 & 10 o'clock news-we were able to watch it but I was never able to find a link to the broadcast.
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
