Slip n Slide
A few weekends ago my mom and dad set up a **few slip and slides on the hill behind their house. It made one huge slip n slide and hours of fun! The kids had a blast!!

Summer Library Activities-July
A local Author, Lisa Brodie Cook, released a new book this month

Lisa teaches Second Grade here in Boone. I also had the privilege of working with Lisa as her Teacher's Aid when she taught Kindergarten a few years ago. Our Library hosted a book signing where Lisa read her book and then the children were able to make a craft. They had her book for sale and afterward she signed them for us!

The girls finished up the reading program at the Boone Library! Their prizes included: a tropical snow coupon, free book from the Book Shoppe in Boone and a holographic ruler, Dutch Oven Bakery coupon, and a free pass to the Blank Park Zoo!

They are still doing the Ames Public Library reading program which goes through August 31. The prizes they have earned so far include:
Journey 1-choice of a prize or sticker
Journey 2-Coupon for a cookie from Subway
Journey 3- Coupon for Ice Cream from Cold Stone
Journey 4- Free Book
Journey 5: Free Pass to the Ames Ice Arena or
a Pool Party at the Furman Aquatic Center
They also get a special prize for visiting the Bookmobile!
Once they have completed all the journeys they can continue to read "Around the World" to earn more entries into the bonus prize drawings. I love that this program continues on through the rest of the summer keeping them reading!
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them- yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10
