Every year we visit Jason's Dads grave over Memorial Weekend. The girls take a flower and draw a special picture to leave there. It is such a loss we never had the pleasure of knowing him or he the joy of meeting his grandchildren, but I am sure he is very proud of the man his son has become.
I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. John 11:25,26
It is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.

Chicks & Ducks
Emma's first and second grade classroom had an incubator with 20 duck eggs and 19 chicken eggs. It takes 21 days for a chicken to develop and 28 days for a duck. On day 8 they candled the eggs to see if everthing was developing properly. they were excited to see movement and the dark eyes of the chicks.
There were fake plastic eggs that showed the life cycle of a chicken and they opened them up each day to see how the chicks were growing and devoloping inside the eggs.

Those who trust in the Lord with find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Busy as a Bee
To Bee-come better readers the month of May Emma's teacher had the kids do 'Busy as a Bee'! She sent home special papers to record each 30 pages the students read (30 pages = 1 book). Each paper held ten 30-page recordings and they were able to turn the sheet in and collect a prize out of the Bee Box. They also got a Bee on their hive that was on special board in the classroom.
As you can see, Emma read 50 books! So awesome~ I am so glad she loves to read!
God cares...Right down to the last detail. James 5:11
Grandparents Day
Every year the 1st and 2nd Grade Class at Trinity invite their grandparents to come spend the day with them at school. Wednesday May 5 was Grandparents Day. Emma was blessed to have Grama Donna and Grama Billie join her. They ate lunch, attended Chapel where the 1st and 2nd Grade led and also did a short play. I was able to attend the Chapel Service and was so glad I got to see them tell us about Jesus turning water into wine. After Chapel they made Mother's Day gifts and cards for us mom's and did an egg drop from their second story classroom window! Emma's egg made it safely without cracking!!!

Success Spring Show
Wow!!! We have been BUSY! I just realized it has been over a week since I last posted. We have so much going on right now - gymnastics, softball, dance (getting ready for Recital!), school.... it has been crazy. Saturday May 1 the girls had their Spring Show for gymanstics. It was hectic that day because we had the Trinity Track meet in the morning (which we had to leave early to make it to the show) and we missed a softball game that was also scheduled during the show (did I mention how busy we have been!).
The Spring Show is held once a year and gives each athlete an opportunity to learn the peformance side of gymnastics and also show family and friends what they have learned!
Lauren's class did an obstacle course. Some of the skills they performed were:
