Emma competed at the Chicago Style Meet February 11th which is the largest USAG Gymnastics meet in the world! Emma competed in the 9 and under age group in Level 5 and there were 47 gymnasts in her session. She started off on vault scoring 8.4 which was considerably lower than her state meet score. Next she moved to bars scoring 9.1- she did a fantastic job! She then moved to beam which is usually her best event. She did really well in warm ups but during her routine she was a little wobbly coming out of her turn that she does right before her cartwheel and ended up falling off the beam on her cartwheel. Other than her fall she had an amazing beam routine! She scored an 8.875 with the fall which is a great score considering! (Had she not fallen she would have scored 9.350 and would have placed 2nd instead of 15th and 3rd AA instead of 9th!) Her last event was floor and probably the BEST floor routine she has ever done scoring a 9.450! It seems that each meet she excels on a different event-it will be amazing to see the meet where she can perform her best on all events! Still a great meet considering she was a 7 year old competing against 9 year olds! We are so proud of her!!
