3rd Grade Outdoor Classroom

Emma's class participated in Outdoor Education Day at Don Williams sponsored by Boone County Conservation. Local professionals presented on a variety of topics and their class was able to participate in many hands on activities.

Dropping water on a penny to see how many 
drops you can get before it drops off the side
*Emma got 16 drops on the first time
 *Emma got 18 drops on the second time
(The heads side of the penny seemed to allow more drops!)

They took a plastic fork, a paper clip and a tub of water
and tried to get the paper clip to float on the water 
and not sink to the bottom-this was very tricky!

They took a full cup of water and added as many pennies 
as they could before the water spilled over the side
