It is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.

Luthern Schools Week

Trinity is celebrating Luthern Schools Week. The K-2nd Grade Chior sang at the 8am Church Service and did a wonderful job! There were refreshments and an Open House where each classroom displayed their students work in the hallway. Mrs. Sprengeler even had a slide show of the first and second graders throughout the year and some samples of their writing!

Some of the fun things they will be doing this week:

Monday ~ Go Green day
Tuesday ~ No lights day (the lights off representing reducing), wear clothes representing someone you admire, and a game
Wednesday ~ Ice Cream Sundeas
Thursday ~ Be a Super Hero (wear a Super Hero cosutume)
Friday ~ Wear your team colors (Emma is the Green Team), Dodgeball Tournament, and an All School movie with popcorn

In an earlier post I talked about Emma making an instrument for school. Her Finger Piano was awarded Most Unique Sound.

Her replica of " The American Gothic" by Grant Wood. They spent over 6 hours working on these!

This past month Emma's class has been learning about prayer. They learned the meanings of the different parts and petitions of the Lord's prayer and now have a new understanding of what they are praying!
They also learned to use the word PRAY as a reminder of how to pray:

P ~ is for praise to God and what he has done for us
R ~ is for repent saying we are sorry for our sins and asking for forgiveness
A ~ is for ask, not for ourselves, but for others and their needs
Y ~ is for yourself, to tell Jesus our concerns and needs

And lastly, they learned to use their hand as a reminder of for whom to pray:

Thumb ~ people close to us: neighbors, friends, family
Pointer ~ for those who haven't heard the news of Jesus and his word
Tall ~ for leaders to be strong and follow Jesus and His Word all day long
Ring ~ for weak and sick ones we say a prayer, Dear Jesus, keep them in your care
Pinkie ~ and last of all, my prayer will be a little prayer that's just for me

They are also learning about earth, rocks, and soil. That the earth is a sphere, what soil is made up of, the different types of rocks and about rock erosion. The weathering changes the rocks through wind, water, ice, and plant growth. In math they are learning fractions and how fun they can be!

By God all things were created. Colossians 1:16
