Lutheran Schools Week

The girls are celebrating Lutheran Schools Week at school this week. Sunday morning they had an open house from 9-10:30 where each classroom displayed their artwork and projects in the hallways and classrooms. There were also refreshments downstairs in the Parish Hall and Emma sang with the 2nd-8 Grade Choir at the 10:30 service.

Some of the activities they are doing this week:

Monday- School Spirit Day
        Science Center of Iowa will visit Trinity

Tuesday- Hat Day 
         Picnic in the Parish Hall

Wednesday- Dress Up Day
           Ash Wednesday Worship Service

Thursday- Animal Kingdom Day: bring your favorite stuffed animal
          The Iowa Herpetological Society with be doing a    
          presentation sharing his knowledge of reptiles &
          amphibians and also showing live animals

Friday- Teachers choose and Activity for their classroom 


Lauren's Classroom

The Preschoolers made this barn! 
They have been learning about "City and Country"
Farms in the Country and busy traffic in the City

Emma's Classroom

They have been studying electricity and electric circuits. Here are the quiz boards they made! 
(When you get the correct answer the light bulb lights up!)
 Their class has also been studying Leonardo da Vinci and his designs and drawings for many new inventions. They did a pencil sketch of their own invention and then wrote what it was able to do.
Emma chose an elephant for her animal to research. She made a model of it out of model magic and then painted it. Next she made a background to show it's habitat. She then researched her animal on the internet, in books, and in encyclopedia's. The last thing she did was write a short paper with some interesting facts about her animal!
